Michelle Diggle adds a great dynamic to our team. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science and Sport from the University of Scranton in Pennsylvania and her Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology from Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York.
Michelle truly enjoys educating and motivating others to lead them towards healthy and more active lifestyles. She has specialized in functional fitness training, group exercise instruction, assessments and strength and conditioning to create and execute programs that are innovative, fun, and effective.
Throughout her career she has also worked in corporate fitness, teaching many different group exercise classes from high impact aerobics, kickboxing, strength training and boot camp classes to core classes and yoga.
Her passion for fitness began in athletics. Originally from Parsippany NJ, she ran track, and played softball and soccer at Parsippany Hills High School. She also played DIII soccer while at the University of Scranton and continues to play women’s soccer with the Morris County Senior Soccer Association.
Prior to completing her graduate degree, Michelle’s clinical experience involved working at the world-renowned Duke University Diet & Fitness Center; a Residential Obesity Clinic in Durham, North Carolina. While at Duke she coached and trained individuals affected by morbid obesity and various metabolic diseases. She also was trained in giving metabolic, anthropometric, and fitness assessments to the clients there.
While completing her education at Syracuse, Michelle was a Graduate Assistant, lecturing and working with undergraduate students in exercise science labs. She also had the opportunity to work with and train many student athletes while at Syracuse.
In addition, Michelle was involved in research with the faculty at Syracuse University, conducting various exercise studies in the metabolic and human performance lab. Her thesis paper Changes in Arterial Distensibility and Flow Mediated Dilation Following Acute Resistance vs. Aerobic Exercise has recently been accepted for publication in the renowned publication, Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research.
Continuing her pursuit for fitness and challenge, Michelle has run in many 5K 10ks and half marathons. She truly loves competing and has recently started racing in triathlons.
Michelle is a certified Health Fitness Instructor (ACSM), a Certified Personal Trainer (NSCA), a Group Exercise Instructor and a certified KickBoxing Instructor (AFAA). She is also certified in CPR, AED and First Aid.
Michelle’s experiences in preventative disease combined with her athletic background have earned her great experiences and success in the fitness industry. She hopes that her positive attitude and motivating attributes, as a leader and coach, can inspire and empower her clients to succeed and perform at their best.
